Alliance Against Family Violence and Sexual Assault is a non-profit organization committed to stopping domestic violence and sexual assault in Kern County and to assist those who have suffered from these crimes reclaim their lives.  

We believe in a stong community - a community that is safe for all children, women, and men.   

Located in Bakersfield, California,  Alliance began in 1979 with a group of volunteers operating a 24-hour hotline.  Over twenty-one years later, volunteers and staff not only continue to operate the hotline - but also to provide many other programs and services that work to end domestic violence and sexual assault in our community and support those who have been victimized.

 All of Alliance's services and programs are at no charge - we receive the greatest portion of our funding through government grants.  United Way,  foundation grants, fundraisers, and community donations make up approximately 20 percent of our budget.
